Research Technician, Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology
Temporary contract for one year, Based in Milton Keynes
The Faculty is looking for a Research Technician with a range of laboratory and fieldwork skills and experience to join our team evaluating the performance and environmental impact of biodegradable-waste treatment processes. The work will mainly involve field and laboratory analyses of biodegradable wastes, leachates and gaseous emissions from lab-scale trials and industrial-scale waste treatment plants. The post will be based in Milton Keynes and travelling to and from other research locations will be required.
You will have a degree or equivalent in a scientific subject (preferably environmental, soil or biological sciences) and relevant laboratory experience with evidence of professional training in laboratory procedures (preferably in environmental research). You should be familiar with Health and Safety regulations, including CoSHH and be able to demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
